Emergency Medical Services
Our Emergency Medical Service response is managed by our Rescue Captain and Rescue Lieutenants. The North Scituate Fire Department provides Advanced Life Support Transport and first responder care to the town of Scituate. We respond with Rescue1 and Special Hazards to provide immediate care and transport.
In an effort to accomplish these tasks our personnel maintain varied EMS skill levels that include EMT-Basic, EMT-Cardiac, and Paramedics. Our response initiative includes a per-diem staffed ALS rescue during the hours of 8AM to 6PM, regularly scheduled volunteer duty nights and a commitment to communication with our Fire Alarm’s dispatcher, other incoming responders and apparatus through radio communications and our newly implemented I Am Responding notification system.
Additionally we reinforce our Rescue 1 with a well-stocked and ALS equipped Special Hazards and when confronted with multiple simultaneous responses, we intervene with Brush 23 and Mutual Aid rescues as needed.
Our training and re-certification programs are provided on an In-Service/On-Going basis to ensure we provide the highest level of care to our citizens.
